Patience. Grateful.
It was just yesterday I shared about a hadith on patience and grateful at my fb status [“... when Prophet (s.a.w) saw something that displeased him, he would say: Alhamdulillah ‘alaa kuli haal (All Praise is for Allah in all circumstances)"...], and today I was put into test in my class. The case is as usual, it was the students’ innocently persuasion in asking for something irrelevant. Or to be specific, by keeping on asking if they could go back earlier than their scheduled time. What was displeasing, is manner; The way they asked with that ‘dragging’ tone sounded a kind of disrespectful; Second is integrity; They were already informed since the 1st day that class ends at 5pm, yet they keep insisting if they could go home earlier. Well, at least for me as a teacher (employee), it’s just my responsibility to follow the school’s rule; and thirdly is respect. It’s just so sad to see how the young ones nowadays behave towards their teachers and elders. Gone are those days perhaps, when students would not move around in class, would listen to what teachers say, would do what they are asked to, and… would not talk back to teachers. Anyway, it’s a different era now and, maybe I shall need to be more patient and learn to understand their styles. To be more ‘creative’ in handling students. : )
So.. what’s happening in class today? Well, talk about test, it’s a Saraf test today! Test is good, I thought. Especially when there’s practical and formula involved. We could then see if they have understood the subject well or might have missed some parts if they could not able to answer it well. In this paper, there were 4 sections. Most of them are able to do the 1st two sections, but not the last 2. There were a number of them though that did pretty well. The good thing about giving them test is that, it helps me to identify students who have difficulties understanding the subject, and not only that but, specifically on which topic and area of the subject. (so that i could drill them more.. hehe)
Below is the test paper which i gave them in class today. Happy trying, peeps ! ;D
